Cole Schotz Adds Real Estate Attorney to New York Office

is pleased to announce that Rab N. Nalavala
has joined the firm’s Real Estate and Real Estate Special Opportunities Departments as Special Counsel in New York.
“With the addition of Rab, our team gains even more experience and depth with developing and financing real estate deals around the country,” said Leo V. Leyva, co-chair of the Real Estate Special Opportunities Group and the Litigation Department in the New York and New Jersey offices. “His extensive work with both buyers and sellers in structuring, negotiating and closing deals brings invaluable knowledge to our clients.”

Mr. Nalavala represents major investment banks, private equity companies, opportunity funds, sovereign wealth funds, REITs, family-owned businesses and various joint venture entities in the acquisition, disposition, development, financing, management and leasing of commercial, retail, industrial and residential properties.
He concentrates much of his practice around the hospitality, leisure and gaming industries, including resorts, casinos, sports complexes and golf courses.
Mr. Nalavala received his B.A. from Wake Forest University and his J.D. from the American University - Washington College of Law, where he was editor of the Law Review. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia. Prior to joining Cole Schotz, Mr. Nalavala was with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
